Project Summary: As part of a broader strategic planning process, assist OMSA with facilitating and cultivating understanding among stakeholders on the transition from our former vision to our newly crafted vision and objectives. Outcomes included:

  • Generation of themes resulting from SWOT analysis for moving forward in terms of a new OMSA vision, possible partnerships and organizational structure.
  • Strategy for effective engagement with key stakeholders for the purpose of inviting input and achieving broad buy-in of emerging vision
  • Alignment of vision with institutional and divisional mission, priorities and other campus-wide initiatives

Client: University of Chicago Office of Multicultural Student Affairs (OMSA), Jan-Feb/15

Project Summary:

  1. Review and research issues of diversity at the University of Chicago to have better understanding of climate
  2. Assess institutional documents and best practices of work around diversity, equity and inclusion
  3. Work with director to ascertain specific areas for inquiry and exploration with stakeholders
  4. Interview stakeholders (interviews are scheduled by OMSA staff) in either 1:1 interviews or focus groups
  5. Draft a report framed in some theoretical approaches the following: themes; strengths; challenges; opportunities; best practices for driving diversity, equity and inclusion efforts in higher education and recommendations
  6. Present findings in public forum to University community
